Long Spigot Fittings
Multi bends have been industry adopted as the one bend for all applications, also known as elongated bends and long spigot short radius bends. The multi bend offers great value as a standard fitting with the performance, reliability and durability moulded fittings deliver. Advanced Piping Systems stock SDR17 multi bends in sizes 63mm – 500mm. SDR11 multi bends are available from 20mm – 500mm. The long spigots of multi bends can be used for both buttwelding and also electrofusion welding with sockets or couplers. The elongated spigots give buttwelding crews the ability to use standard flat clamps in the welding machine, which greatly assists with alignment and loading the buttwelding machine. The flexibility is still there to cut the bends spigot back, or utilise fitting or knife clamps for a short as possible dimension when required. Multi bends are very well suited to mining applications such as slurries and media rich fluid transportation. The radius and moulded reinforcing offer an increased wear life to rough and abrasive environments. Water treatment, sewerage treatment and civil infrastructure pipelines also benefit from these bends due to the radius giving better flow and minimising friction loss.
